How to get your Specialty Diver accreditation

What do I need to get Specialty Diver certification?
To obtain it, you need:
- Complete 2 SSI specialities
- To have at least 12 logged dives
Once you meet both requirements, SSI automatically grants you certification.
Can I do the specialisations separately?
Yes, you can do each specialty separately.
But if your aim is to gain the Specialty Diver qualification, the smartest thing to do is to plan for the 2 specialties and the necessary dives directly.
This way you progress faster and with better judgment.
Do specialty dives count towards the 12?
Yes.
The dives you do during specialties do count towards achieving the 12 necessary dives.
What happens if I still don't have 12 dives?
It's nothing.
You can start the specialities equally and complete the remaining dives later.
Furthermore, if you do the package with us, you'll get a discount on dives until you reach 12.
Do I have to choose my specialisms before I start?
Not necessarily.
You can come to us with an idea or let us advise you.
We'll help you choose based on your level, experience, and what truly motivates you.
What is the best combination of specialities?

How long does it take to complete the Specialty Diver?
It depends on your availability.
You can do it in a few days or spread it out over several weeks.
We adapt to your pace.
Can I do it if I haven't dived in a long time?
Yes, but we might recommend you do a refresher (scuba skills update) first.

How many dives does each specialty have?
It depends on the speciality.
Most SSI specialties include between 2 and 3 training dives, although some may vary.
For example:
- Specialties like Buoyancy or Navigation usually have 2 dives
- Specialties such as Deep Diving or Night Diving usually include 2 or more dives
- Others like Nitrox can be primarily theoretical (no mandatory dive).
In any case, we will explain exactly how many dives each specialty includes before we start.
